In a humorous twist, comedian Jerry Seinfeld couldn't resist taking a playful jab at the beloved sitcom 'Friends' while promoting his upcoming film, 'Unfrosted.' The promo video for the film, which Seinfeld wrote and directed, features a fictional president of Pop-Tarts, Kelman P. Gasworth, accusing Seinfeld of trademark infringement for referencing their products in the movie.

In response to the accusation, Seinfeld quipped, "You mean like 'Friends'?" referring to the fact that both 'Seinfeld' and 'Friends' are centered around groups of friends living in New York City.

The playful jab at 'Friends' showcases Seinfeld's comedic prowess and his unwavering ability to find humor in everyday situations. The reference also highlights the enduring popularity of both 'Seinfeld' and 'Friends,' which continue to captivate audiences despite the passage of time.

'Unfrosted,' which is set to premiere in May, marks Seinfeld's first venture into directing a film. The film tells the origin story of Pop-Tarts, and features a star-studded cast, including Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, and Hugh Grant.

Seinfeld, who is known for his observational comedy, shared his thoughts on the current state of the film industry with GQ. He believes that the industry has lost its former prominence in the cultural hierarchy, due to the plethora of entertainment options now available.

"Film doesn’t occupy the pinnacle in the social, cultural hierarchy that it did for most of our lives," Seinfeld said. "When a movie came out, if it was good, we all went to see it. We all discussed it. We quoted lines and scenes we liked. Now we’re walking through a fire hose of water, just trying to see."

Despite the challenges facing the film industry, Seinfeld remains optimistic. He believes that the industry will adapt to the changing landscape and continue to produce high-quality entertainment.

"Everyone I know in show business, every day, is going, ‘What’s going on? How do you do this? What are we supposed to do now?’" Seinfeld said. "But we'll figure it out. We always do."
