Fox News host Jesse Watters accused Democrats of lying to voters about Kamala Harris' qualifications and criticized her for refusing to participate in debates or grant interviews.

Fox News host Jesse Watters launched a scathing attack on Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday, accusing her of hiding from the public and the media in order to avoid exposing her weaknesses.

"They're lying to you and laughing about it," Watters said on "Jesse Watters Primetime." "Kamala has never won a single primary vote, ever. And the one debate she committed to, she's trying to wiggle out of."

Watters highlighted Harris' recent refusal to participate in a primary debate with former President Donald Trump and her avoidance of media interviews. He noted that Harris' only sit-down interview since becoming vice president was with her running mate, President Joe Biden, and that it was conducted without a reporter present.

"A country where the Democrat presidential nominee refuses to do interviews isn't a free country," Watters argued. "You don't have a free press if the press isn't free to interview presidential nominees. Putin does more interviews than Kamala."

Watters accused Harris' handlers of shielding her from scrutiny to protect her from potential negative publicity. He argued that this strategy showed a lack of confidence in Harris' ability to withstand tough questions.

"If winning is everything, why take any risks at all? Why not just campaign from a safe space?" Watters questioned. "They'll continue to do that until the risks of not talking outweigh the risks of talking, meaning, if the press starts giving her a really hard time, and she starts looking like a chicken, then she'll talk."

Watters also criticized the media for allowing Harris to avoid accountability. He said that many reporters were putting their jobs and self-respect on the line to avoid losing an election.

"Only a few reporters are looking around and saying, guys, we don't have jobs if we just let Kamala ignore us for the sake of winning," Watters said.

Watters' comments echo the growing frustration among some Democrats with Harris' handling of her role as vice president. She has been criticized for her lack of visibility and for failing to make a significant impact on key issues such as immigration and voting rights.

Harris' supporters argue that she has been unfairly targeted by Republicans and that she is doing important work behind the scenes. They point to her work on issues such as maternal mortality and the opioid crisis as evidence of her effectiveness.

However, her critics contend that her absence from the public eye and her refusal to engage with the media raise questions about her ability to be an effective leader. They argue that her strategy of avoiding scrutiny is ultimately unsustainable and could damage her chances of winning the presidency in 2024.
