First Lady Jill Biden argues that President Biden's advanced age is an asset, not a liability, as the age of both presidential candidates becomes a national conversation.
First Lady Jill Biden has launched a vigorous campaign push, arguing that President Joe Biden's age is a significant advantage in the upcoming presidential election. Despite national discussions surrounding Biden's age and mental acuity, Jill Biden maintains that it is not a hindrance but rather an asset for the president.
In a passionate speech delivered at a campaign stop in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Jill Biden asserted, "This election is most certainly not about age. Joe and that other guy are essentially the same age. Let's not be fooled." She further stressed, "Joe isn't one of the most effective presidents of our lives in spite of his age, but because of it."

President Biden is currently 81 years old, while former President Donald Trump recently turned 78. The age of both candidates has been a subject of much debate, with some expressing concerns about Biden's mental sharpness. However, Jill Biden remains unwavering in her belief that her husband's age and experience are invaluable in his role as president.
Jill Biden's remarks echo her previous statements on the matter. In an interview with "The View" last month, she stated, "This election is not about age. I mean Donald Trump is going to be 78 and Joe's 81. They're basically the same age. But, it's about character. This election is about character."

The First Lady emphasized Biden's strong character, integrity, and leadership qualities, contrasting them with the perceived chaos associated with Trump. She stated, "So you have two choices: You have my husband Joe, who you all know, who has integrity, he's strong, he's steady, he's a leader. He's smart. He's energetic — or you have chaos."
In January, Jill Biden further stated, "His age is an asset." She shared, "I see Joe every day. I see him out, you know, traveling around this country. I see his vigor. I see his energy. I see his passion every single day."

Jill Biden's remarks come amidst a February ABC News/Ipsos poll revealing that 86% of Americans believe Biden is too old to serve another term as president, while 62% express the same sentiment about Trump. Despite these findings, Jill Biden remains resolute in her belief that Biden's age and experience are essential qualities for an effective president.
