Despite recent polls showing President Biden trailing former President Trump, First Lady Jill Biden expressed confidence during an interview on "The View," asserting that the tables will turn in their favor. She also dismissed concerns about Biden's age and emphasized his strong character.
First Lady Jill Biden joined the co-hosts of "The View" on Wednesday, where she addressed concerns about President Biden's low approval ratings and his age. Despite polls indicating a lead for former President Trump in several key swing states, Biden expressed optimism, claiming that the polls would eventually turn in their favor.
When questioned about the recent New York Times poll showing Trump leading Biden in crucial swing states such as Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Arizona, Biden asserted that her husband was not losing in those states. She emphasized that they were actively reaching out to voters and remained confident in Biden's ability to secure a second term.
Biden also addressed the issue of her husband's age, with Biden being the oldest person to ever serve as President. She dismissed the concerns, stating that age was irrelevant in this election, as both Biden and Trump were roughly the same age. She emphasized that character matters more than age, and that her husband possessed the qualities of integrity, strength, and intelligence needed to lead the country.
When asked about her thoughts on recent polls, Biden referred to an earlier interview on "CBS Mornings" in April, where she had dismissed the notion that Trump was ahead in swing states. She had confidently stated that Biden was "coming up" in those polls.
The "View" co-hosts also pressed Biden about her husband's recent trip to Europe and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Biden expressed pride in her husband's leadership on the international stage, highlighting his efforts to rally NATO allies and support Ukraine against Russian aggression.
Biden's appearance on "The View" comes amidst a series of interviews and public appearances aimed at boosting support for President Biden. The couple has recently embarked on a "Unite for Our Future" tour, focusing on highlighting the Biden administration's accomplishments and promoting unity among Americans.
Despite the challenges faced by the Biden administration, including the ongoing pandemic, economic concerns, and the war in Ukraine, Jill Biden remains optimistic about her husband's prospects. She believes that as the election nears, Americans will choose "good over evil," emphasizing her husband's character and commitment to the country.
