In the wake of his victory in the high-profile defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp is venturing into the dating world once again. Fox News Digital has confirmed that the 61-year-old actor is casually seeing 29-year-old Russian model Yulia Vlasova.

"It's casual," a source close to the couple told Fox News Digital. "They've known each other for a few years and have seen each other here and there."

Depp has only been romantically linked to one other woman since his breakup with Heard: attorney Joelle Rich. Rich, who previously represented Depp, was present during his six-week defamation trial against Heard.

Experts believe that a casual relationship may be suitable for Depp at this time, given the aftermath of his public battle with Heard. "Perhaps being with someone younger who is not looking for something substantial or isn't as turned off by his track record may actually suit him well at the moment," explained Amy Laurent, professional matchmaker and author of "8 Weeks to Everlasting."

Depp's defamation case against Heard, filed in 2019 after she wrote an op-ed claiming she was a victim of domestic abuse, resulted in a jury awarding him $15 million. The jury also found Depp liable for defamation through his lawyer, awarding Heard $2 million in compensatory damages.

Since the trial, Depp has been rebuilding his career. He toured with the late Jeff Beck in the summer following the trial and released his comeback film, "Jeanne Du Barry," in May 2023.

Despite his recent romantic involvement with Vlasova, she is not considered his girlfriend. Laurent believes that this arrangement may be beneficial for Depp as he navigates personal growth. "An 'on and off again' element in any relationship is an indicator that it's not very serious or something that people are in for the long-haul," she said. "At this point in his life, that may be perfect for him to not get too serious, especially if it's for the purpose of doing some soul-searching."

Depp is also scheduled to perform with Will Smith at "Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration" in Italy, along with Russell Crowe, Shania Twain, Ed Sheeran, and other celebrities.
