Jon Gosselin, the star of "Jon & Kate Plus 8," has lost a remarkable 32 pounds in just two months thanks to semaglutide, the generic form of Ozempic. The Type 2 diabetes medication has enabled Gosselin to improve his eating habits, quit drinking, and embark on a non-invasive fat removal journey.
Jon Gosselin's weight-loss journey has taken a significant leap forward since he began taking semaglutide in February. The former "Jon & Kate Plus 8" star revealed to Page Six that he has shed 32 pounds in a mere two months, leaving him filled with regret for not starting the medication sooner.
"You know what's annoying? The regret of not starting it 10 years ago," Gosselin expressed. "I feel amazing! Like, why didn't I do this sooner? Maybe it wasn't the right time."
Gosselin's journey has not been without its challenges. Since his highly publicized divorce from ex-wife Kate Gosselin in 2009, he has endured multiple court battles over child custody and support, which took a toll on his emotional well-being.
"A lot of things were going on emotionally and I went to court a lot, which was super expensive," Gosselin explained. "It just wasn't a good time in my life. But now I finally have time to focus on myself."
The use of semaglutide has had a profound impact on Gosselin's lifestyle. He credits it with helping him quit drinking and develop healthier eating habits.
"It's really nice because it helped me stop drinking, and it helped me get my appetite under control with less eating," he explained. "I was able to really refocus my diet that way. I just focused on consuming what I need to consume in a healthy manner."
In addition to his medication regimen, Gosselin has incorporated non-invasive treatments such as CellSound and fat removal procedures to complement his weight-loss efforts.
"I have to run or do the elliptical or the Peloton or any of that, that's on me. But I would never have voluntary surgery because I was lazy," he stated. "That's how I see it. I'm not super overweight. I just told myself, 'Dude, you've got to stop eating fries. You've just got to stop eating drive-thru food.'"
Gosselin's journey has also inspired his 19-year-old daughter, Hannah, to embark on a similar path. Together, they are undergoing CellSound Therapy to target visceral fat, which can be particularly difficult to shed through exercise alone.
"I just got complacent with my health," Gosselin admitted. "This is the first time I had to buy XL! And XL doesn't really fit me, because I'm short. I'm 5'8...the sleeves are too long."
Ultimately, Gosselin's decision to prioritize his health was driven by a desire to improve his appearance and address a family history of heart disease.
"Heart disease runs in my family. My dad had congestive heart failure. He died almost 18 years ago," Gosselin explained. "He died at 62, and his father died at 65, so I keep track of that kind of stuff."
Gosselin's impressive weight-loss journey serves as a testament to the transformative power of medication, lifestyle changes, and the pursuit of a healthier future.
