Spanish golfer Jon Rahm expressed his anger with the use of drones during LIV Golf events, claiming they disrupt his game.

Jon Rahm, the renowned Spanish golfer, has voiced his frustration with the utilization of drones during LIV Golf tournaments, alleging that they negatively impact his performance. The incident occurred during the LIV Golf Nashville broadcast on Sunday, with Rahm caught on a hot mic expressing profanities about the presence of drones near his tee shot.

Rahm, who was within striking distance of the lead at the time, witnessed his tee shot veering into a water hazard on the left side of the hole. The ball's trajectory did not align with his intended fade from left to right, prompting him to question the drone's interference. Upon observing the flight of his ball, Rahm swiftly turned to address a drone hovering over the tee box.

"Every tournament," Rahm exclaimed. "It’s f---ing incredible. Right in my backswing, these f---ing drones every time."

The timing of Rahm's errant tee shot was particularly unfortunate, given his proximity to the lead. The incident resulted in a bogey on the par-4 12th hole. Nevertheless, Rahm displayed resilience in the remainder of his round, notching birdies on the 14th and 15th holes to finish tied with Lee Westwood at 12-under for the tournament.

In the context of LIV Golf's unique team format, Rahm's teammate Tyrrell Hatton emerged as the outright leader in Nashville with an impressive 18-under score. This lead of five shots over Sam Horsfield's 13-under total placed Hatton's Legion XIII team in a commanding position over Torque GC.

Despite Rahm's strong performance in the Nashville event, his recent results in major tournaments have been less than stellar. Following his withdrawal from the U.S. Open due to a foot ailment, Rahm finished T-45 at the Masters Tournament. Additionally, he failed to make the cut at the PGA Championship in Louisville earlier this year.

Since recovering from his foot injury, Rahm has expressed optimism about his upcoming participation in The Open Championship next month. He is hopeful for improved results and intends to put his frustrations over drone disruptions behind him.

The utilization of drones in LIV Golf events has sparked reactions from both supporters and critics. Some argue that the technology enhances the viewing experience, while others, like Rahm, contend that it poses a distraction to players. The debate over drones' impact on the sport is likely to continue as LIV Golf gains traction and its practices come under scrutiny.
