Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight, father of Angelina Jolie, has weighed in on the ongoing family drama between his daughter and her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. Voight, who is currently promoting his upcoming film, "Reagan," expressed concern over the protracted dispute and urged Pitt to take responsibility for ending the turmoil.
"I wish they'd find a way to make peace," said Voight. "You know, I think the kids need some stability. I love the kids, and I love my daughter. And I want Brad to step up to do, you know, what he has to do. End this nonsense."

Pitt and Jolie have been locked in a contentious battle for nearly eight years, involving both custody of their children and a disagreement over their French winery, Château Miraval. The couple's relationship ended in 2016 after an alleged physical altercation on a plane.
Voight acknowledged that he doesn't interact with his grandchildren as much as he would like, but he is adamant about the need for a resolution. "I think the kids need some stability," he reiterated.

In 2022, Jolie was granted sole physical custody of her minor children, including Shiloh, who was recently renamed Vivienne Jolie-Pitt. Pitt was initially granted joint custody but later agreed to "custodial time" with the children.
Jolie has cited her children's well-being as the reason for her separation from Pitt. "I separated for the well-being of my family. It was the right decision," she told Vogue India in 2020. "I continue to focus on their healing."

The former couple's legal battles have also extended to their French winery, Miraval. Pitt sued Jolie in 2022 for breach of contract after she sold her share of the company to a third party.
In a recent court filing, Jolie's attorneys argued that she and her children were "victims of Pitt's purportedly ‘private’ abuse and cover-up." They claimed that Pitt refused to buy her interest in Miraval unless he received an NDA, enforceable by an $8.5 million holdback, to silence her about the alleged abuse.

A source close to Pitt disputed the claims, stating that the legal attack was an attempt to distract from Jolie's breach of contract.
The legal battles have taken a toll on Pitt. His daughter Shiloh filed to remove his last name from her hyphenated surname on her 18th birthday in May. Sources close to the situation confirmed that Shiloh had hired her own attorney to handle the change.

Pitt has reportedly expressed dismay over Shiloh's legal action. "He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name. He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter," a source told People magazine.
Jolie has previously shared the challenges she has faced in recent years. "My body has been through a lot over the past decade, particularly the past four years, and I have both the visible and invisible scars to show for it," she told Harper's Bazaar. "The invisible ones are harder to wrestle with."
