Renowned legal expert Jonathan Turley has lauded the prosecution's case in the Hunter Biden trial, describing it as "airtight." In a segment on Fox News' "America Reports," Turley commented on several key moments from the trial to date, which has entered its fifth day.

On Friday, defense attorney Abbe Lowell indicated that he may call Hunter Biden himself to testify, a decision that will be disclosed on Monday after 8:15 a.m. Presiding Judge Maryellen Noreika instructed both parties to reconvene at the J. Caleb Boggs Federal Building and United States Courthouse.

Prosecutors are striving to establish that Biden lied on a federal firearm form in 2018 by stating that he was not an unlawful user of firearms or addicted to controlled substances. The defense, while acknowledging Biden's past substance abuse, contends that he did not perceive himself as an active user at the time of purchasing the firearm.

Friday's proceedings included testimony from several key witnesses, including Dr. Jason Brewer, a forensic chemist for the FBI; Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Supervisory Special Agent Joshua Romig; gun shop employee Jason Turner; gun shop owner Ronald Palimere; and Hunter Biden's daughter, Naomi Biden.

Naomi Biden took the stand in the afternoon and disclosed that she was aware of her father's drug addiction but had not witnessed him use substances. She also detailed a visit to his rehab facility in California in 2018, where she witnessed his progress in becoming sober.

Under cross-examination by prosecutor Leo Wise, Naomi Biden faced questions about her father's pickup truck, where the gun in question was found. She testified that the truck was in good condition when she returned it to Hunter Biden on Oct. 19 and denied noticing any drug residue. However, Hallie Biden, Hunter Biden's sister-in-law, previously testified finding the gun and a "dusting" of powder in the truck on Oct. 23.

Expert witness Brewer testified that the white substance found on the gun pouch tested positive for cocaine, the base substance for crack cocaine.

The prosecution aims to demonstrate that Hunter Biden was using crack cocaine shortly after purchasing the revolver on Oct. 12. They presented text messages between Biden and his daughter, Naomi, in which he requested her boyfriend to bring the truck to him at 2 a.m. and apologized for upsetting her.

Turley noted that the prosecution has presented a strong case, highlighting the testimony of experts who have linked Hunter Biden's behavior to drug use. He also emphasized the potential significance of Hunter Biden's testimony, stating that "the only person who can really explain what was going on in his head is Hunter Biden himself."

If Hunter Biden does not testify, the trial could proceed to closing statements and jury instructions, potentially leading to jury deliberations as early as Monday. The trial was initially anticipated to last a week or two.
