Embattled psychologist Jordan Peterson has pledged to continue speaking his mind, despite a court order mandating him to undergo sensitivity training for his outspoken views on social media. Peterson claims the training is an attempt to silence him and tarnish his reputation.
Canadian clinical psychologist and bestselling author Dr. Jordan Peterson has vowed to keep speaking his unfiltered opinion despite a court order to attend sensitivity training following complaints over his social media posts.
Peterson is currently embroiled in a free speech battle against the Ontario College of Psychologists, which last year ordered him to take "social media training" for his posts calling out transgender ideology, politicians, and other polarizing topics. Several Ontario Divisional Court judges have rejected his appeal, but the intellectual remains defiant, asserting that his detractors will not easily silence him.
"I'm not concerned about it because there's nothing they can really do to me," Peterson told Fox News Digital. Despite the looming prospect of undergoing the training, Peterson plans to continue appealing and maintains that he will remain as vocal and defiant as ever on the issues that matter to him.
"I'm not practicing as a clinical psychologist. I don't have clients. And so, I'm not financially dependent on the designation," he explained. "And truly, I'm so appalled by my colleagues and their cowardice in the face of the gender-affirming care idiocy that it isn't even a club I want to belong to."
However, Peterson expressed regret at the possibility of being stripped of something he worked hard to earn. "I'm not willing to let a pack of carnivorous, bureaucratic, moralizing dimwits strip me of something that I earned and did well at," he said. "So, we'll see how it goes."
Peterson's outspoken statements against far-left and woke agendas have sparked both admiration and controversy. In 2022, he was suspended from Twitter for rebuking transgender actor Elliot Page's decision to undergo breast removal surgery. He was reinstated after Elon Musk took over the platform.
That same year, Peterson also criticized Sports Illustrated for featuring a plus-sized model on its May cover, stating that it was "not beautiful" and that "no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that." These posts, along with others, drew the ire of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, which accused Peterson of violating their ethical guidelines.
Peterson's appeal has been rejected, but he maintains that the battle is far from over. He plans to continue appealing and is considering taking his case all the way to the Supreme Court. Regardless of the outcome, Peterson vows to keep speaking his mind and advocating for what he believes in.
"I'll be careful what I say, but I will not be deterred from saying what I think," Peterson said. "I will not be bullied into submission. I will not be silenced."
The College of Psychologists of Ontario has not yet responded to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
