Judge Judy Sheindlin has condemned Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's prosecution of former President Trump as "nonsense," criticizing Bragg for using taxpayer money to pursue a weak case instead of addressing rising crime in the city.

Judge Judy Sheindlin has launched a scathing attack on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's successful prosecution of former President Trump, calling the case "nonsense" and criticizing Bragg for "using the system for your own personal self-aggrandizement."

Sheindlin, the renowned TV arbiter and former Manhattan Family Court judge, expressed her dismay during an interview with CNN host Chris Wallace, questioning the basis for Trump's conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records.

"And that's what you think the DA did in Manhattan?" Wallace asked.

"That's what I think. I mean, if you look — you had to twist yourself into a pretzel to figure out what the crime was," Sheindlin replied.

Sheindlin criticized Bragg for prioritizing the prosecution of a high-profile case over addressing the pressing issue of crime in New York City.

"I would be happier, as someone who owns property in Manhattan, if the district attorney of New York County would take care of criminals who were making it impossible for citizens to walk in the streets and use the subway, to use his efforts to keep those people off the street, than to spend $5 million or $10 million of taxpayers’ money trying Donald Trump on this nonsense," she told Wallace.

Sheindlin also shared her thoughts on Trump himself, acknowledging his business acumen but expressing concerns about his presidency.

"I think he was a good businessman, a real estate guy. And he was certainly terrific on ‘The Apprentice,'" she said.

However, Sheindlin delivered a more harsh judgment about Trump's term as President of the United States.

"I don’t think that Donald ever should have been president," she said, "and I don’t think that even Donald thought he was going to be president."

Sheindlin's comments have sparked a wider debate about the nature of the Trump prosecution and the priorities of the Manhattan District Attorney's office.

Critics of the prosecution argue that it was politically motivated and based on a weak case, while supporters contend that it was a necessary step to hold the former president accountable for his actions.

The debate over the prosecution is likely to continue as Trump appeals the verdict and as Bragg faces increasing pressure to address rising crime in New York City.

In the meantime, Judge Judy's scathing remarks have added fuel to the fire, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the prosecution and highlighting the ongoing concerns about crime in the city.
