Pop superstar Justin Timberlake has been arrested for driving while intoxicated in New York, according to exclusive documents obtained by Fox News Digital.

Acclaimed singer and songwriter Justin Timberlake was arrested in the early morning hours of Monday night in Sag Harbor, New York, and charged with driving while intoxicated. According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Timberlake was pulled over by authorities for allegedly failing to keep right and failing to stop at a stop sign.

Upon administering standardized field sobriety tests, the arresting officer noted that Timberlake "performed poorly" in all of them. The officer further observed that the "Cry Me a River" singer exhibited "bloodshot and glossy" eyes, a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath," and difficulty "dividing attention." Timberlake's speech was also reported to be "slowed," and he was observed to be "unsteady afoot."

Following his arrest, Timberlake was arraigned on Tuesday morning in Sag Harbor. He was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated along with the aforementioned traffic violations. A spokesperson for the Suffolk County district attorney's office confirmed the charges and stated that Timberlake is expected to appear virtually for his first court hearing in the matter on July 26.

At this time, neither Timberlake nor his legal representatives have publicly commented on the arrest. However, a spokesperson for his attorney, Ed Burke, told Fox News Digital, "No comment from Mr. Burke at this time."

In March, Timberlake released his sixth studio album, "Everything I Thought It Was." The album was met with mixed reviews from critics but has been a commercial success, debuting at number three on the Billboard 200 chart.
