A recently uncovered ACLU questionnaire from 2019 reveals Vice President Kamala Harris' support for far-left policies, including decriminalizing all drugs and providing taxpayer funding for migrants' gender-transitioning medical procedures.
CNN's Erin Burnett expressed astonishment on Monday night after learning that in 2019, then-presidential candidate Kamala Harris supported a range of far-left policies, as evidenced by a recently surfaced ACLU candidate questionnaire.
According to CNN senior reporter Andrew Kaczynski, the questionnaire disclosed Harris's support for decriminalizing all illegal drug possession and the provision of taxpayer funding for gender-transitioning surgeries for detained migrants.

"Taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries for detained migrants? She actually said she supported that?" Burnett exclaimed, her tone indicating disbelief.
A prominent pledge in the questionnaire was Harris's vow to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) funding and support gender operations for illegal immigrants.

"She both wrote and answered in the affirmative when she was asked this, and she said she also supported it for federal prisoners," Kaczynski stated.
Harris's immigration-related pledges also included a 50% reduction in immigration detention, the closure of all family and private facilities, and the elimination of ICE detainers with local law enforcement.

Burnett remarked, "These are things that you know, it would be hard to think that you would come up with taxpayer funding gender transitions for detained migrants, and yet as you say, written and verbally."
These left-leaning stances stand in stark contrast to Harris's recent pledges to secure the southern border if elected president. Last month, the Harris campaign stated that it would "ensure sufficient resources to enforce our laws and prioritize detention" for those threatening public safety and national security at the border.
Burnett and Kaczynski also criticized the Harris administration last week for utilizing images of the U.S. border wall built during the Trump administration in a recent campaign ad, despite Harris's long-standing condemnation of the wall as "useless."
"That is a portion of wall that was actually built by Donald Trump. It was built in area where there was not previous wall, it was actually pretty controversial when they were building it at the time," Kaczynski explained.
"She’s using his wall that he built to say, ‘Look at what I did’?" Burnett asked.
When asked for a response from the Harris campaign, Fox News Digital was directed to a statement by campaign communications director Michael Tyler on Tuesday morning.
Tyler stated, "Yeah, again, I mean that questionnaire – this is not what she is proposing. It's not what she's running on. You want to talk about immigration or border security? She has been very clear about what she – how she has governed and how she intends to govern if she is president of the United States. You talk about border security, for example, she has made very clear that the bipartisan border security package that Donald Trump blew up because he thought it would benefit him politically – if it gets on her desk, she will sign it into law."
As for Harris's support for decriminalizing all illegal drug possession, Kaczynski explained that it would encompass not only marijuana but also substances such as fentanyl, crack, and cocaine.
The Harris campaign's response to Fox News Digital highlighted the evolving nature of Harris's policy positions over time. While the questionnaire reveals her previous stances, it is important to consider her current views and stated intentions for the future.
