Caitlin Thielen, wife of former Vikings receiver Adam Thielen, expressed disappointment over Vice President Kamala Harris' selection of Tim Walz as her running mate, citing his handling of the Minneapolis riots.
Vice President Kamala Harris' selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate has sparked controversy, with critics suggesting that antisemitism influenced the decision. Fox News pollster Mark Penn and contributor Katie Pavlich explored the issue on "The Story."
Caitlin Thielen, wife of former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen, took to social media to voice her disapproval of Walz's selection. "Oh man.. bad bad news. He has run Minneapolis into the ground," she wrote on Twitter.

Walz served as governor during the tumultuous Minneapolis riots that followed the police-involved death of George Floyd. Adam Thielen played for the Vikings for nine seasons before joining the Carolina Panthers.
Harris defended her choice, citing Walz's personal background and record in office. "It’s personal," she said. "He grew up in a small town in Nebraska, spending summers working on his family’s farm."

Walz enlisted in the National Guard at age 17 and served for 24 years. He used his GI Bill benefits to pursue higher education and became a teacher, serving as a football coach and advisor to the Gay-Straight Alliance.
As governor, Walz collaborated with Republicans on infrastructure investments, cut taxes for working families, and passed laws for paid family leave and universal background checks for gun purchases. He also ensured Minnesota became the first state to provide constitutional abortion protections after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Harris emphasized Walz's commitment to family and values. "We are going to build a great partnership. We are going to build a great team," Harris said. "We are going to win this election."
However, some critics have questioned Walz's record, particularly his handling of the Minneapolis riots. They argue that his policies have exacerbated the city's problems, including crime and homelessness.
Harris and Walz are expected to be confirmed as the Democratic nominees at the Democratic National Convention later this month in Chicago. They will face former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance, in the 2024 election.
The selection of Walz as Harris' running mate has ignited debate and raised questions about the Democratic Party's priorities and the direction of the country.
