The Harris campaign's latest advertisement, titled "The Best People," features former Trump officials including Mike Pence, Mark Esper, John Bolton, and Mark Milley criticizing the ex-president. Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt denounces the ad as an attempt to deflect from Kamala Harris' "dangerous liberalism."
Vice President Kamala Harris' new campaign ad, titled "The Best People," has sparked controversy by utilizing statements from former top Trump officials to criticize the ex-president. However, a spokesperson for Advancing American Freedom, a nonprofit founded by Mike Pence, clarified that Pence's appearance in the ad does not constitute an endorsement of Harris.
The ad highlights remarks made by Pence in August 2023, where he condemned individuals who put themselves "over the Constitution" and stated that "anyone who does that should never be President of the United States." Pence's comments came after Trump was indicted for alleged interference in the 2020 election results.

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley additionally appear in the ad, criticizing Trump's actions and character.
Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt dismissed the ad as an attempt to distract from Harris' perceived "dangerous liberalism" and weak support among moderate Democrats.

The Harris campaign's use of former Trump officials' statements in its advertisement has raised questions about the ethics of using such material without explicit consent. However, the ad reflects a growing trend of bipartisan criticism toward Trump's presidency, which has been amplified by the recent indictments and revelations surrounding his handling of classified documents and alleged election interference.
Pence's decision not to endorse Trump for president has further fueled speculation about his political future and the widening rift within the Republican Party. While Pence has stated he would never support Harris, his recent comments have also distanced himself from Trump's narrative of election fraud and stolen glory.
