Despite her cancer treatment, Middleton expressed her sorrow for being unable to take the salute at this year's Colonel's Review. "Being your colonel remains a great honor and I am very sorry that I'm unable to take the salute at this year's Colonel’s Review," she stated.

The Princess of Wales extended her apologies to the entire regiment and expressed her hope for a future opportunity to represent them. She concluded her letter with well wishes and good luck to all involved.

The Irish Guards were deeply touched by Middleton's letter. They shared images of it on social media alongside a message expressing their gratitude for her support and well wishes. The guards also wished her a speedy recovery.

Kensington Palace confirmed to Fox News Digital that Middleton will not attend the traditional Colonel's Review on June 8th to take the salute. Instead, she will continue to prioritize her recovery. Lieutenant General James Bucknall, KCB, CBE, will assume the honor in her absence.

Royal experts have emphasized that King Charles and Prince William have encouraged Middleton to take her time and return to public duty only when she feels ready. Her future attendance at Trooping the Colour remains uncertain.

"The palace won’t officially give us any indication of a potential Catherine return. It is up to their doctors and ultimately Catherine’s choice," said Kinsey Schofield, host of the "To Di For Daily" podcast.

Middleton has kept a low profile since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March. She recently released a pre-recorded video message in which she expressed gratitude for the support and care she has received.

"It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family," she said. "But I’ve had a fantastic medical team who’ve taken great care of me, for which I’m so grateful."

Middleton informed her three children about her diagnosis and is focusing on her recovery. "I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body and spirits," she shared.

Royal author Christopher Andersen expressed confidence that Middleton will return to public life when she is ready. He said, "Kate is undergoing cancer, and it’s perfectly understandable that she’s out of the picture for the moment. There is no doubt in my mind that Kate will return to public life once she’s satisfied that she’s done everything her doctors have told her to do to defeat her illness."

Middleton's commitment to duty is well-established, and experts believe she will resume her royal responsibilities as soon as her health permits.
