Former ESPN anchor Keith Olbermann has vehemently criticized Donald Trump's former doctor, Ronny Jackson, and the claims made about Trump's alleged bullet wound sustained during a campaign rally last week. Olbermann dismisses Jackson's medical expertise and questions the validity of Trump's injury, echoing skepticism raised by other notable figures.

Former ESPN anchor Keith Olbermann has launched a scathing attack on Donald Trump's former doctor, Ronny Jackson, and the claims he made regarding Trump's alleged bullet wound sustained during a campaign rally last week. Olbermann dismissed Jackson's medical expertise and questioned the validity of Trump's injury, aligning himself with others who have raised similar concerns.

In a statement released on Saturday, Jackson, who served as physician to the president during the Trump administration, stated that he had evaluated the former president in Bedminster, New Jersey, and diagnosed him with a gunshot wound to the right ear. Jackson asserted that the bullet had caused a 2 cm-wide wound that had extended down to the cartilaginous surface of the ear, resulting in significant bleeding and swelling. He further stated that no sutures were required and that the wound was beginning to heal properly.

Olbermann, however, expressed strong skepticism towards Jackson's claims. In a post on his blog, Olbermann wrote, "In brief: Ronny Jackson isn't a doctor. Which is perfect, because Trump wasn't hit by a bullet." Olbermann's comments echo the doubts raised by MSNBC host Joy Reid, who had previously questioned the authenticity of Trump's injury.

Trump, who recently appeared at the Republican National Convention with a bandage over his right ear, claimed to have been wounded by the would-be assassin at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. He asserted that he had moved his head at the last moment, narrowly avoiding being directly hit by the bullet.

Olbermann's skepticism is not the first time Trump's bullet wound claim has faced scrutiny. Legendary tennis star Martina Navratilova also expressed doubts about the injury, suggesting that the bandage was merely a "PR" stunt.

The controversy surrounding Trump's bullet wound claim and Jackson's medical opinion highlights the ongoing skepticism surrounding the former president's health and the reliability of information surrounding it. As the investigation into the assassination attempt continues, it remains to be seen whether further evidence will support or refute the claims made by Trump and Jackson.
