Brad Keselowski's daughter, Scarlett, took the American flag her father held after winning the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway to school for her class to use during the Pledge of Allegiance.
Brad Keselowski's victory at the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday was a special moment for the NASCAR Cup Series driver and his family. Not only did Keselowski secure his first win in three years, but his daughter, Scarlett, got to share in the celebration in a unique way.
On Monday, Keselowski's wife, Paige, posted a heartwarming video on social media showing Scarlett taking the American flag her father held during his victory lap to school with her. "No one happier than this girl," Paige Keselowski wrote on Instagram. "She wanted to take the race-winning flag to school today so her class could use it for the Pledge of Allegiance."
Keselowski's victory was hard-fought, as he moved into the lead late in the race after Tyler Reddick slid up the track and made contact with Chris Buescher. Ty Gibbs finished second, Josh Berry was third, Denny Hamlin was fourth, and Chase Briscoe rounded out the top five.
After the race, Keselowski expressed his excitement about winning at Darlington Raceway, a historic track in NASCAR. "It's Darlington, so whether it's your first win, your last win, this is a really special track," Keselowski said. "The history of NASCAR, it's as tough as it gets, and that battle at the end with my teammate and Tyler Reddick, we just laid it all out on the line, it was freaking awesome."
Keselowski's win was a culmination of several strong performances this season. After finishing 33rd at Daytona and Atlanta earlier in the year, he put together four top-five finishes. He was 11th last week at Kansas and eighth at Richmond back in March.
With his victory at Darlington, Keselowski moved up four spots in the standings to 11th. The win is a sign that Keselowski is back in contention and could be a threat to win the championship.
In addition to his on-track success, Keselowski's victory was also a special moment for his family. Scarlett's excitement about taking the American flag to school is a testament to the pride and patriotism that comes with being a NASCAR driver.
Keselowski's win is a reminder that NASCAR is more than just a sport. It's a family affair, and the drivers and their families share in the highs and lows of competition together.
