Actor and author Kirk Cameron is set to hold a new "See You at the Library" event on August 24, calling on families to stand strong for traditional values amid a culture of division.
Kirk Cameron, the outspoken actor, author, and advocate for family values, has announced a new "See You at the Library" event this summer on August 24. The event aims to promote traditional values and inspire families to stand up for their beliefs in a divided America.
Cameron spoke to Fox News Digital about his upcoming venture during Pride Month, highlighting the importance of instilling faith, family, and positive values in America's children. He expressed concern over the increasing influence of Pride Month activities, which he believes promote dangerous ideas and undermine the traditional values he holds dear.
The event builds on Cameron's partnership with publisher Brave Books, which has issued books focused on traditional values. Last year, Cameron and Brave Books organized "See You at the Library" events in over 300 libraries across 46 states, targeting public libraries to counter the presence of drag queen story hours and other LGBTQ+ events.
Cameron emphasized the importance of parents and grandparents fulfilling their "sacred duty" to teach children what is important, citing the dangers of outsourcing parenting to schools or organizations with agendas that may not align with traditional values.
He believes that the current challenges facing America stem from the failure of good people to teach their children the importance of faith, family, and love, which he believes is superior to the pride celebrated during Pride Month. Cameron argued that love embraces humility, courage, and opposition to sin, while pride is dangerous and harmful.
Cameron drew inspiration from the biblical story of David and Goliath, highlighting the importance of standing up for what is right, even in the face of overwhelming odds. He believes that by looking behind the challenges and seeing the support of God, individuals can find the courage to fight for their beliefs.
This year's "See You at the Library 2024" event aims to double the participation of last year, with over 500 libraries and tens of thousands of people gathering nationwide. The event will feature the singing of the national anthem, reading of wholesome books, and prayer, emphasizing the importance of promoting traditional values in public spaces.
Cameron stressed the importance of engaging in the fight for traditional values, emphasizing that every individual has a role to play. He encouraged families to host their own Brave story hours using the toolkits provided by Brave Books, which include books, stickers, flags, and other educational materials.
For Cameron, America represents a precious gift from God, a land where individuals can enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. He believes that it is the duty of citizens to protect these virtues and correct any errors in government that threaten them.
Cameron emphasized the importance of gratitude for the opportunities provided by the country, especially during Pride Month when individuals are encouraged to identify by their sexuality. He believes that Christianity offers a more meaningful identity, inviting people to see themselves as sinners saved by grace and heirs of eternal life.
