Kristaps Porzingis, the Dallas Mavericks' star forward, made a triumphant return to the lineup for Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat on Sunday night. Porzingis had been sidelined for the previous two games with a dislocated tendon in his left ankle, an injury that had cast doubt over his availability for the rest of the series. However, the Latvian big man overcame the pain to suit up and make a significant impact, helping the Mavericks to a crucial 119-108 victory that leveled the series at 2-2.

Kristaps Porzingis Returns for Game 5, Boosting Mavericks' Title Hopes
Porzingis had been sidelined for the previous two games with a dislocated tendon in his left ankle, an injury that had cast doubt over his availability for the rest of the series. However, the Latvian big man overcame the pain to suit up and make a significant impact, finishing with 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 32 minutes of action.
The Mavericks started the game slowly, falling behind by 10 points in the first quarter. However, Porzingis's presence on the court seemed to galvanize his teammates, and the Mavericks fought back to take a one-point lead at halftime.
In the second half, the Mavericks continued to chip away at the Heat's lead, and Porzingis began to assert himself more offensively. The 7-foot-3 forward made several key shots down the stretch, including a three-pointer with just over four minutes remaining that put the Mavericks up by five points.
The Heat never got closer than three points the rest of the way, and the Mavericks closed out the game with a 15-5 run to secure the victory.
Luka Dončić led the Mavericks with 32 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Jalen Brunson added 24 points and Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 21 points off the bench.
For the Heat, Jimmy Butler led the way with 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Bam Adebayo added 21 points and 10 rebounds.
The series now shifts back to Miami for Game 6 on Tuesday night. The Mavericks will be hoping to take a 3-2 lead, while the Heat will be looking to regain home-court advantage.
Kristaps Porzingis's return from injury was a major boost for the Mavericks, both on and off the court. The Latvian big man provides the Mavericks with a much-needed scoring and rebounding threat, and his presence on the court seems to inspire his teammates.
With Porzingis back in the lineup, the Mavericks now have a more balanced attack, and they are no longer as reliant on Dončić to carry the scoring load. Porzingis's ability to stretch the floor with his shooting also makes it easier for Dončić to operate in the paint.
The Heat now face an uphill battle in Game 6. They will need to find a way to slow down Dončić and Porzingis, and they will need to be more efficient on offense. The Heat shot just 42.5% from the field in Game 5, and they were outrebounded by the Mavericks 48-35.
If the Heat can't improve their shooting and rebounding, they will be in danger of losing Game 6 and falling behind in the series.
