Javier Barajas, the owner of the Las Vegas restaurant II Toro e La Capra, has become the target of boycott calls after hosting former President Trump for a press conference on his "No Taxes on Tips" proposal. However, Barajas is not bowing to the pressure, expressing his unwavering support for Trump.

"I was so grateful to have President Donald Trump in my restaurant," Barajas said in an interview with Fox News' "Fox & Friends First." "I've been having a lot of phone calls, a lot of TikToks that people make, talking bad about me and my restaurant, but, at the same time, I've been having a lot of good response, too."

Trump's visit sparked controversy, with critics calling for a boycott of II Toro e La Capra. However, Barajas maintains that the backlash is coming primarily from people who did not have first-hand experience with the event.

"Most of the people who are trying to boycott my restaurant are people who were not even there," Barajas said. "They're just hearing what other people are saying and they're jumping on the bandwagon."

Barajas, a native of Mexico, is a strong supporter of Trump's immigration policies. He believes that Trump will do more to support the working class, particularly Hispanic immigrants.

"We're supporting President Donald Trump because we know that he's gonna do a lot better for people that work hard in our country," Barajas said. "He knows that the United States needs people to come to work, not to [be] delinquents. We don't like what President Biden did — open the border to millions and millions of people without checking their criminal records."

Barajas also expressed his belief that Trump would implement better economic policies than President Biden. He cited rising inflation and the challenges facing small businesses as evidence of the need for change.

"Everything is very expensive," Barajas said. "President Donald Trump — he's a businessman. I know he's going to do a lot better for us."

Barajas' family also runs the Lindo Michoacan restaurants in Las Vegas. Notably, President Biden visited one of these locations in July before announcing his decision not to seek reelection in 2024.

Despite the controversy surrounding Trump's visit to II Toro e La Capra, Barajas remains optimistic about the future of his business. He believes that the support he has received from Trump's supporters and the community at large will outweigh the calls for a boycott.

"I'm not going to let a few people who don't even know me or my restaurant tell me what to do," Barajas said. "I'm going to keep supporting President Donald Trump and I'm going to keep running my business the way I always have."
