Lexie Hull has become a key player for the Indiana Fever since they returned from the Olympic break, and her teammates are taking notice of her impact on the team. Hull's contributions were on full display Wednesday night as the Fever snapped a long losing streak to the Connecticut Sun with an 84-80 victory.

Hull finished the game with 17 points, 3 assists, and was 4-of-6 from 3-point range. She also played a key role in the Fever's defense, helping to limit the Sun to just 80 points.

After the game, Hull's teammates were full of praise for her performance.

"Lexie was huge for us tonight," said Kelsey Mitchell, who led the Fever with 23 points. "She hit some big shots, played great defense, and really helped us get this win."

Caitlin Clark, who added 19 points for the Fever, agreed.

"Lexie is a great player," Clark said. "She's always hustling and making plays. She's a big reason why we're starting to turn things around."

Hull was appreciative of the compliments from her teammates, but she was quick to downplay her own contributions.

"I was just trying to do my part," Hull said. "We're a team, and we all played well tonight. I'm just glad we got the win."

The win over the Sun was Hull's first start since July 10, but she has seen a minutes increase since the team's first game back against the Phoenix Mercury. She played 18 minutes in the team's win against Phoenix back on Aug. 16. She played 31 minutes against Connecticut.

In that five-game span, she's averaging 11.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and an assist per game in 25.4 minutes per game. In 20 games before the break, Hull was only averaging 3.6 points per game in 13.2 minutes per game.

Hull's increased production has been a major factor in the Fever's recent success. Indiana is 4-1 since its return to the floor. The Fever are 15-16 on the season and have their most wins since 2016, when they finished the year 17-17. It was also the last season they made the postseason.

Hull is hoping that the Fever can continue to build on their recent success and make a run at a playoff berth.

"We're playing well as a team right now," Hull said. "We're all confident and we're all working hard. I think we can make a run at the playoffs."

The Fever's next game is Friday night at home against the New York Liberty.
