ESPN's Brian Windhorst has slammed Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Dončić for his poor attitude and behavior towards officials, arguing that it is costing the team their chance at an NBA championship.

The Boston Celtics have taken a commanding 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals, putting the Dallas Mavericks on the brink of elimination. While Dončić has been a standout performer for the Mavericks, averaging 29.7 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists per game, his on-court antics have drawn criticism from ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

Windhorst has taken particular issue with Dončić's repeated complaints about the officiating and his disrespectful behavior towards the referees. During Game 3, Dončić was ejected after receiving his sixth foul, and he was seen arguing with the bench, telling them, "You better bleeping challenge" the call.

"That was the beginning of an all-time rant from Windhorst, who criticized Dončić's attitude," the article says. "I'm standing here in the Mavericks' tunnel. Over there is the Celtics' tunnel. That's where the winners are," Windhorst quipped. "If Luka's ever gonna be a winner coming out of this tunnel here, he is gonna have to use what's happened in this finals as a learning experience."

Windhorst believes that Dončić's attitude is preventing him from being a true leader and is costing the Mavericks wins. "You've got a situation here where Luka's complaining about the officiating. They have begged him, they have talked with him [and] they have pleaded with him. He is costing his team because of how he treats the officials," Windhorst said.

Windhorst acknowledges that Dončić has been a key player for the Mavericks throughout the regular season, but he argues that his behavior in the Finals is unacceptable. "But now he is the reason the Mavericks are not gonna win," Windhorst said. "And if someone doesn't speak with Dončić soon, the organization will never get over the hump."

The Celtics, meanwhile, have been the epitome of composure and teamwork in the Finals, and their success is a testament to their focus and discipline. "The Celtics survived a 22-2 Mavericks run in the fourth quarter to win Game 3 of the NBA Finals, 106-99," the article says. "They have won 10 straight in the playoffs and are 7-0 on the road. Game 4 is Friday night."

If the Mavericks want to avoid a sweep and continue their playoff run, they need to find a way to control Dončić's emotions and channel his energy into positive play. As Windhorst says, "He has gotta get over this. And the fact that he came out after the game and blamed the officials showed me he is nowhere close yet. So, maybe over the summer, somebody will get to him. Because nobody with the Mavericks or anybody else in his life has."
