Law enforcement agencies continue their search for Joseph A. Couch, the suspected gunman believed to have injured seven individuals in a shooting and subsequent car accident on Interstate 75 in Kentucky. Couch, who is considered armed and dangerous, remains at large.
A widespread manhunt is underway in southeastern Kentucky for a suspect who allegedly opened fire near Interstate 75, injuring seven people and causing a car accident. Law enforcement agencies are actively searching the area along the highway on foot and with drones following the incident, which occurred around 6 p.m. on Saturday near exit 49.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Office has identified Joseph A. Couch, 32, as a person of interest in the shooting and has warned the public that he is considered armed and dangerous. Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office, emphasized that authorities have not yet confirmed that Couch was the shooter.

The initial search was suspended overnight due to darkness, but officials maintained control of the scene. "We do have the area contained right now. It's a very fluid investigation. Our people are still on the scene. Our special response team is there. We are trying to find a shooter there," Acciardo said.
Investigators believe there was only one shooter and do not suspect road rage as a motive. They have resumed their search for Couch on Sunday morning.
