"Sad society we’re living in. Prayers and blessings to the family of Sonya Massey," Stroman's post continued. "The trauma that the black community continually deals with is frustrating and beyond repair!"
Massey, a 36-year-old mother, had called 911 to report a suspected prowler. However, the situation escalated, and body camera footage released by the sheriff's office shows a deputy threatening to shoot Massey before firing his pistol, hitting her three times.

Stroman's comments echo broader concerns about systemic racism and police brutality in the United States. The video footage of Massey's shooting has sparked outrage and protests, with calls for justice and accountability.
"Just another day in America, It's beyond tiring seeing innocent black human beings murdered in cold blood," Stroman wrote on Instagram. "Being black in America is incredibly scary."

Stroman urged followers to confront the issue regardless of their race, emphasizing the unfairness and unjustifiability of such acts. "Shout to the family of Sonya Massey. I couldn't imagine what they're going through. Prayers and blessings to her family and the entire black community," he wrote.
Stroman's social media platforms, with millions of followers, provide a significant platform for raising awareness and spurring dialogue on racial injustice.
His stance is particularly noteworthy as an athlete with a large public profile. Stroman's willingness to speak out on social issues underscores the growing recognition among athletes of their power to use their platforms for social good.
The killing of Sonya Massey has reignited debates about police training, accountability, and the need for comprehensive reforms to address racial disparities in the criminal justice system.
While Stroman's comments are applauded by many for their authenticity and passion, they have also stirred controversy. Some critics have accused him of politicizing sports and engaging in virtue signaling.
However, Stroman remains steadfast in his belief that athletes have a responsibility to use their voices for positive change.
As Stroman prepares to take the mound again for the Yankees, his message continues to resonate, highlighting the ongoing fight for justice and equality in America.
