Late-night host Seth Meyers has added a "disclaimer" to his jokes about President Biden's age, emphasizing the stark contrast between the incumbent and his GOP rival, Donald Trump.

Late-night comedian Seth Meyers has prefaced election jokes about President Biden's age with a stern disclaimer, reminding viewers of the vast chasm between Biden and his Republican challenger, former President Trump.

"Now a quick disclaimer for anybody who's mad about my Biden-is-old jokes," Meyers declared after injecting humor into Biden's recent episodes of tripping on stairs and pausing momentarily at a Juneteenth event.

Meyers, a staunch liberal, continued, "He's the most powerful man in the world. He can take a joke. As we made clear on this show repeatedly, there's no equivalency between a competent 81-year-old who occasionally shows signs of age and a demented 77-year-old criminal who says dead people rigged the election and thinks electric boat batteries will lead to shark attacks."

Meyers' disclaimer underscores the fact that, despite his occasional jokes about the president's age, the upcoming election presents a stark contrast. "This is a good reminder, that while I like a president that could at least sway back and forth a little bit, this election is a binary choice and I do prefer stone-cold Joe Biden over a hot dog salesman who's only got two left to sell," he quipped before airing a clip of Trump dancing at a rally.

Meyers' stance is not unique among liberal late-night comedians, who have largely refrained from criticizing Biden. A Politico column recently highlighted the limited scrutiny Biden has faced, despite providing ample fodder for humor.

In February, Biden joined Meyers for an amiable interview, during which Meyers subtly poked fun at his age and the pair ventured out for ice cream. CBS's Stephen Colbert also attended a lavish fundraiser for Biden in March, while ABC's Jimmy Kimmel is reportedly organizing another star-studded fundraiser later this month.

The contrast between Meyers' treatment of Biden and his relentless mockery of Trump is stark. Meyers has repeatedly condemned Trump's behavior, questioning his mental acuity, fitness for office, and integrity.

Meyers' disclaimer serves as a reminder of the stark differences between the candidates, emphasizing the absence of equivalency between an experienced and capable leader facing occasional age-related missteps and an impulsive and reckless individual with a history of dangerous rhetoric and actions.
