The medical examiner has determined that Mica Miller, the wife of a Myrtle Beach pastor, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation into her death continues, with authorities addressing false rumors and sharing new details about harassment incidents she reported prior to her passing.
The medical examiner has concluded that Mica Miller, the wife of a South Carolina pastor, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, shedding light on her tragic death. The investigation into the circumstances leading up to her passing remains ongoing, with officials urging the public to refrain from speculation and await the release of more information.
According to Dr. Richard Johnson, the Robeson County Medical Examiner, Miller's wound is consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This contradicts earlier speculations that the gunshot had occurred in the back of her head.
The Robeson County Sheriff's Office has acknowledged the medical examiner's findings and announced that Sheriff Burnis Wilkins will meet with Miller's family to provide further details on tomorrow evening. The sheriff has appealed to the public to withhold judgment and allow the investigation to unfold fully.
Miller's body was discovered on April 27 in the Lumber River State Park, approximately an hour's drive from her Myrtle Beach residence. Her husband, John-Paul Miller, who is the pastor of their church, initially disclosed that she had died by suicide and had struggled with mental health issues.
Meanwhile, new reports obtained by ABC 15 reveal that Miller had been experiencing harassment and expressed concerns for her safety. In an incident reported to the police, she stated that a razor blade had been placed in her tire, leading her to believe that she was being followed or watched.
On the day of her death, Miller reported receiving a no-caller ID call from a suspect she identified as having a history of harassment. She also claimed to have found a tracking device on her vehicle.
Miller's family and friends have expressed their grief and demanded justice, using the hashtag #JusticeforMica. Her sister has cautioned against accepting false narratives and advised reaching out to her siblings or parents for accurate information.
The Robeson County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation, and more detailed information from the medical examiner is expected to be released tomorrow. Pastor John-Paul Miller has stepped down from his ministerial duties to seek healing and guidance.
Solid Rock Church, where Miller's husband was the pastor, has temporarily suspended its website and activities. The Robeson County Sheriff's Office has not yet responded to requests for comment.
