Michael Cohen, the former lawyer for former President Donald Trump, is expected to take the stand on Monday in the landmark New York v. Trump case. However, his credibility has been openly questioned by pundits and legal experts across the political spectrum.

Cohen, once a loyal employee of Trump, has become a sworn enemy and has been speaking out about the case on TikTok, despite Judge Juan Merchan's controversial gag order. This has led to accusations that he lacks impulse control and is trying to profit from the case.

Some have labeled Cohen a "grifter," while others see him as a reformed sinner who regrets his past actions. He is expected to explain his role in arranging a $130,000 payment to adult actress Stormy Daniels in 2016 to silence her story of a sexual encounter with Trump.

Trump and Cohen turned on each other in 2018 after years of Cohen doing what he called the future president's "dirty deeds." Attorney Mike Davis, an outspoken Trump supporter, has called Cohen a "convicted perjurer" who is trashing Trump in the courtroom.

Judge Merchan has directed New York prosecutors to instruct Cohen to stop making comments about the case and Trump, but has not imposed a gag order. Cohen has continued to do TikTok live videos, speculating about Trump going to prison and apparently fundraising through viewer donations.

Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley has called Cohen a "serial perjurer" who is making money off the case by soliciting cash and selling merchandise on social media. Imprisoned attorney Michael Avenatti, who represented Daniels in her lawsuits against Trump, believes the state cannot win without the jury believing and liking Cohen.

Several media outlets have also pointed out Cohen's flaws. The Washington Post has published pieces highlighting Cohen's ongoing disdain and calling him a "flawed witness." ABC News has raised concerns that Cohen's TikTok actions could damage his credibility.

CNN panelists have debated Cohen's credibility, with one panelist stating that he is the "picture next to the definition 'reasonable doubt.'" Cohen has also been criticized in the BBC for his outside-the-courtroom antics.

Cohen's defense attorney, Lanny Davis, has pointed to his client's testimony before the House Oversight Committee in 2019 as evidence of his credibility. However, Trump defense attorneys claim the payments to Daniels were not a payback but legal payments or attorney's fees.
