Running back Donovan Edwards says the team is not concerned with allegations, focusing instead on their own performance and improvement.

Amidst the ongoing sign-stealing controversy that has engulfed the Michigan football program, star running back Donovan Edwards has asserted the team's unwavering focus on the present.

"I personally don’t hear anything. We’re worried about today, not about anything else," Edwards told Fox News Digital in a recent interview. "We’re worried about what goes on in Schembechler Hall and not what other people say and controversy. All we can control is what we can control, and that’s our attitude, effort, and what we do on a day-to-day basis."

The allegations, which center around a scheme to videotape opponents' sideline signals, have resulted in Level I violations for former head coach Jim Harbaugh and alleged ringleader Connor Stalions.

However, Edwards remains adamant that the team is not letting the controversy distract them.

"We know what we can do, and we know what we’re capable of," Edwards said. "We’re not going to let anything get in our way of achieving our goals."

Edwards' sentiments were echoed by interim head coach Sherrone Moore, who was Harbaugh's defensive coordinator before taking over the program.

"Our focus is on the present," Moore said. "We can’t control what happened in the past, and we can’t control what might happen in the future. All we can control is what we do today."

Moore added that the team has a "zero tolerance" policy for any violations of NCAA rules.

"We’re going to do things the right way," Moore said. "We’re not going to cut corners, and we’re not going to take any shortcuts. We’re going to compete with integrity, and we’re going to represent the University of Michigan in a first-class manner."

The NCAA has yet to issue any penalties against Michigan, but the program could face sanctions ranging from probation to a bowl ban.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding their future, the Wolverines are determined to put the controversy behind them and focus on the upcoming season.

"We’re going to use this as motivation," Edwards said. "We’re going to show the world that we’re a team of character, and we’re going to compete for a national championship."

Moore added: "We’re not going to let this define us. We’re going to let our performance on the field speak for itself."

The Wolverines open their season on September 2nd against Western Michigan.
