Miley Cyrus, the renowned singer-songwriter and actress, and her legendary godmother, Dolly Parton, share a common outlook on the subject of childbearing. Both women have openly discussed their uncertainty about starting families of their own, emphasizing their deep bonds with their fans and their belief that all children deserve love and support.

In a recent interview with W Magazine, Cyrus, 31, revealed that she remains unsure whether she will become a mother, viewing her fans as an extension of her own family. "I'm 31 now, and I still don't know if I want kids or not," Cyrus confided. "I feel like my fans kind of are my kids in some way."

Cyrus acknowledged that Parton, who has never had children, had expressed a similar sentiment in the past. "I've heard Dolly say that too, because she didn't have kids," Cyrus noted.

Parton, 77, has been candid about her decision not to have children with her husband of 58 years, Carl Thomas. In an interview with Saga Magazine in 2023, she explained that her career and lifestyle were not conducive to raising a family. "When you're a young couple, you think you're going to have kids, but it just wasn't one of those burning things for me," Parton stated. "I had my career and my music and I was traveling. If I'd had kids, I'd have stayed at home with them. I'm sure and worried myself to death about them."

Despite not having children of her own, Parton has always felt a strong connection to all children, believing that her role as a public figure extends to nurturing the younger generation. "I always say God didn't let me have children so that all kids could be mine," Parton remarked.

Cyrus resonates with Parton's reasoning and shares her belief in the importance of supporting all children. She told W Magazine, "That's how I feel."

Cyrus also emphasized her contentment with her current life stage as an adult. "I love being an adult," she said. "I have a rule that I don't look up or don't look down at anyone. I just look, which allows me the clarity to see the world for what it really is and people for who they really are. I look at myself almost every day in the mirror and I say, 'I am a woman.'"

Reflecting on her career and recent Grammy Award win, Cyrus questioned the industry's delayed recognition of her talent. "No shade, but I've been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the Grammys?" she asked. "Where the f--- was I if we want to talk stats and numbers? And where the f--- was I if we want to talk... impact on culture?"

Cyrus emphasized that her inquiries were not motivated by arrogance but rather a desire for greater understanding. "I'm proud of myself," she concluded.
