Local journalist Alyssa Kratz of WPMT FOX43 revealed this restriction in a Facebook post, stating that the campaign refused press access to Walz.

"We were not allowed to put microphones up by Gov. Walz while he was speaking," Kratz wrote. "One reporter tried shouting a question, and we were told to 'not disrupt the program.'"

FOX43 confirmed Kratz's account, emphasizing that reporters were denied proximity to Walz's podium. This prohibition extended to questions shouted after his speech.

"A reporter from the local NBC affiliate (WGAL) shouted out a question after Gov. Walz was finished speaking to volunteers, and we were told by the campaign to not disturb the interactions between Gov. Walz and the volunteers," Kratz added.

In addition to this recent event, both Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris have been largely evading media interaction since Harris's presidential campaign commenced in July. Their rare joint interview with CNN's Dana Bash on Thursday has been met with criticism, raising questions about Harris's ability to conduct major interviews independently.
