Kentucky State Police are searching for an 8-month-old baby who has been missing for weeks. The baby's parents were arrested at a motel with a stash of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
The Kentucky State Police (KSP) are urgently searching for an 8-month-old baby girl who has been missing for several weeks. The child, Miya Tucker Rudd of Reynolds Station in Ohio County, was declared missing by KSP on Thursday after a search warrant and welfare check at the family's home failed to locate her.
Reynolds Station is approximately 90 miles southwest of Louisville. Miya has not been seen by any family members since the beginning of May, a KSP spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital. Child protection services had been searching for the child before contacting the police when they were unable to find her.
The girl's mother, 29-year-old Tesla Tucker, and her father, 30-year-old Cage C. Rudd, were located at a motel in Owensboro on Wednesday. They did not have any information about the baby's whereabouts and were found in possession of a large amount of drugs, including fentanyl.
"We tried to interview the parents, but they're not being very cooperative with our investigation," Trooper Corey King of KSP told Fox News Digital. "They don't know where the child is and say there is a possibility she is with other family members."
Troopers arrested and charged Tucker and Rudd with drug trafficking and possession, as well as the abandonment of a minor and child abuse. They are being held at the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro. Rudd was also charged with possession of methamphetamine.
A third individual, Ricky Smith, was also arrested in connection with the case. Police allege that Smith was living with the couple at their home at Deanfield Church Road and was using the residence as a base for drug trafficking. He has been charged with drug crimes, child abuse, and endangering the welfare of a child.
During the initial search of the home, police discovered various drugs.
Miya Tucker Rudd has brown hair and green eyes. She was last believed to be in the care of her parents, KSP said.
Anyone with information about Miya's whereabouts is urged to contact KSP at 270-826-3312.
The investigation is ongoing, and KSP has requested the assistance of the public in locating the missing child.
