Police in Indiana have issued a Silver Alert for Bryson Muir, the 14-year-old son of former NFL defensive lineman Daniel Muir. Authorities believe the boy is in "extreme danger."

Bryson Muir was last seen on June 16 leaving a residence with his mother, Kristen. Garfield Heights Police in Ohio pulled over Kristen’s vehicle, but Bryson was not in it, police said.

The Cass County Sheriff Department and the Cass County Department of Child Services have yet to locate the boy.

Anyone with information on Bryson Muir's whereabouts is asked to call the Indiana State Police at 1-800-622-4313.

Daniel Muir was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played in 72 games over seven seasons, recording 11 sacks and 33 tackles for loss.

In 2018, Muir was arrested and charged with domestic battery after allegedly hitting his wife in the face. He was sentenced to one year of probation.

Bryson Muir's disappearance comes amid a string of recent cases of missing children in the United States. In May, a 10-year-old girl in Colorado was found dead after being missing for three days. In June, a 13-year-old boy in Illinois was found safe after being missing for more than a week.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children estimates that over 800,000 children are reported missing in the United States each year. Most of these children are found safe within a few hours, but some remain missing for weeks, months, or even years.
