Morgan Freeman, born June 1, 1937, is a renowned American actor who has starred in a wide range of acclaimed films. Before pursuing acting, Freeman served in the U.S. Air Force as a radar repairman. His journey to Hollywood fame took many years, but his perseverance paid off when he landed his breakout role in "Street Smart" at the age of nearly 50.

Over the years, Freeman has appeared in a diverse range of films, including "Se7en," "Chain Reaction," "Kiss the Girls," "Amistad," "Along Came a Spider," "The Sum of All Fears," and "Bruce Almighty." His versatility as an actor is evident in the wide array of genres he has explored.
In 2005, Freeman's performance in Clint Eastwood's "Million Dollar Baby" earned him the coveted Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He also starred in Christopher Nolan's acclaimed "The Dark Knight" trilogy as Batman's trusted ally, Lucius Fox.
Freeman has collaborated with other notable directors, including Ben Affleck in "Gone Baby Gone" and Eastwood again in "Invictus," in which he portrayed Nelson Mandela. His acting credits also include "Olympus Has Fallen" and its sequels, as well as the "Now You See Me" franchise.
In addition to his Oscar nominations, Freeman has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including the Kennedy Center Honor and the Cecil B. DeMille Award, the Golden Globe's lifetime achievement award.
Freeman's filmography includes both critically acclaimed dramas and family-oriented films such as "Dolphin Tale." His most recent works include "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard," "Paradise Highway," and the upcoming "The Ritual Killer," "A Good Person," "57 Seconds," and "My Dead Friend Zoe."
