Joe Scarborough, co-host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," expressed frustration on Tuesday after his show was abruptly removed from the airwaves on Monday, leaving observers bewildered. Scarborough criticized the network's lack of communication and transparency in the decision.

On Tuesday, MSNBC co-host Joe Scarborough returned to the airwaves after his show was mysteriously sidelined on Monday following the assassination attempt against former President Trump. Scarborough wasted no time addressing the confusion, expressing dismay and frustration with his network's handling of the situation.

"We were told, in no uncertain terms, on Sunday evening, that there was going to be one news feed across all NBC News channels yesterday," Scarborough said, referring to NBC's parent network and its left-leaning cable affiliate MSNBC. "That was going to be one news feed across all NBC News channels. That we were going to stay as a network in breaking news mode throughout all day yesterday. That did not happen."

Scarborough emphasized that his team was left without adequate explanation for the sudden change in plans. "We don’t know why that didn’t happen. Our team was not given a good answer as to why that didn’t happen, but it didn’t happen."

MSNBC's decision to sideline "Morning Joe" on Monday, a historic political moment, left many observers puzzled. Fox News Digital had previously reported that the show's producers and hosts had been informed of the decision but were shocked and upset when it appeared to be the only significant MSNBC program on Monday to be taken off the air.

"We were very surprised," Scarborough admitted on Tuesday. "We were very disappointed. And if we had known that there wasn’t going to be the one news feed from NBC News across all NBC News channels, Willie [Geist], we obviously would have been in yesterday morning."

Co-host Mika Brzezinski added her disappointment, expressing their desire to be on air during such a momentous occasion. "This show began, and continues 17 years later on being the place where you can go to have the hard conversations in a civil way. So it seemed like, now more than ever, is a day, a time that we would like to be on. I think our viewers agree with that," Brzezinski said.

Scarborough hinted at potential consequences should the network attempt to bench them again in a similar fashion. "And the newsfeed will be us, or they can get somebody else to host the show," he said, suggesting that he and his wife may quit if it happened again.

MSNBC has not yet provided an official explanation for the decision to pull "Morning Joe" on Monday. The network has remained under fire for sidelining one of its signature shows on such a significant news day.

Sources within MSNBC had previously told Fox News Digital that the decision was allegedly motivated by concerns that a "Morning Joe" guest could make inappropriate remarks in the wake of Trump's shooting. However, an MSNBC spokesman strongly denied that report.

Regardless of the reasoning, the abrupt removal of "Morning Joe" from the airwaves has raised questions about MSNBC's editorial judgment and its commitment to providing unfiltered coverage of important events.
