President of the National Education Association (NEA), Becky Pringle, delivered a bizarre and passionate speech at the organization's Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly in Philadelphia, drawing comparisons to the eccentric character Dwight Schrute from "The Office."

The National Education Association (NEA) President Becky Pringle has come under fire for a "totally unhinged" speech that was mocked for its resemblance to a comedic skit from "The Office." During her address at the NEA's Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly in Philadelphia, Pringle's exaggerated gestures, screeching pitch, and fervent calls for social justice change reminded critics of the iconic character Dwight Schrute, played by Rainn Wilson.

Pringle's speech was a passionate plea for transformative change in the education system, with a focus on equity and social justice. She urged attendees to "unite not just our members, but the nation to reclaim public education as a common good, as the foundation of our democracy." However, her delivery drew more attention than her message, as she banged on the podium, flailed her hands, and shouted repeatedly about "winning all the things."

Critics, such as school choice advocate Corey DeAngelis, labeled Pringle's speech as "off-the-rails" and compared it to a scene from "The Office." "These power-hungry control freaks think they own your kids. They're in a cult that worships government and detests parents. It's time to defund teachers unions and allow the money to follow the child," DeAngelis told Fox News Digital.

The creators of Dwight Schrute's speech in "The Office" based his over-the-top performance on real speeches by Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. Schrute's lines, such as "Blood alone moves the wheels of history!" and "We must never acquiesce, for it is together, TOGETHER, THAT WE PREVAIL!" echoed Pringle's screechy riffs and mannerisms.

Jason Bedrick, a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, commented on Pringle's speech, saying, "Her overwrought, hyper-partisan tirade amounted to an advertisement for school choice." He added, "Even Pringle's over-the-top, Dwight Schrute-like theatrics can't distract from her union's role in the dismal state of education in this country."

Political consultant Matt Dole also noted the resemblance between Pringle and Schrute, suggesting that the fictitious character might have been her "speech coach." Last year's speech by Pringle drew similar comparisons, with the National Review describing it as "unhinged."

Despite the criticism, Pringle's speech was met with applause and support from NEA delegates. The NEA did not provide an immediate response to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
