MASSAPEQUA PARK, N.Y. – Police have returned to the Massapequa Park home of Rex Heuermann, the suspected serial killer accused of murdering four women whose remains were discovered along Ocean Parkway in 2010.

Investigators from the New York State Police and Suffolk County obtained a new search warrant for the home, where they had previously spent nearly two weeks searching last year. Law enforcement agents were seen arriving at the property on Monday, carrying document boxes and wearing protective gear.

Last year's search uncovered evidence that led to Heuermann's arrest and subsequent charges with three counts of first-degree murder and four counts of second-degree murder in relation to the "Gilgo Four" case.

Heuermann's wife, Asa Ellerup, who filed for divorce after his arrest, and their adult children were not present at the home during the search. Ellerup's lawyer stated that she had not been asked in advance.
