Eli Manning, Luke Kuechly, and Terrell Suggs headline the first-time nominees for the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame, joining an illustrious list of modern era candidates.

As the NFL gears up for the upcoming season, the anticipation for the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class reaches new heights. The Hall has unveiled a formidable list of 167 modern era candidates vying for induction, including 16 first-time nominees.

Among the newcomers are two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning, Defensive Players of the Year Luke Kuechly and Terrell Suggs, and postseason kicking hero Adam Vinatieri. These legendary figures have etched their names into the annals of football history and are now vying for the ultimate recognition.

Eli Manning, the younger brother of Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, carved out an exceptional career with the New York Giants. Selected first overall in the 2004 draft, Manning spent his entire career in New York, leading them to two improbable Super Bowl victories. His iconic game-winning touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress in Super Bowl XLII remains etched in the minds of football fans.

Luke Kuechly, the Panthers' first-round pick in 2012, swiftly established himself as one of the league's most dominant defensive forces. In his eight-year career, he earned five All-Pro selections, seven Pro Bowl nods, and Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. Kuechly's exceptional instincts, tackling prowess, and ability to read offenses made him a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks.

Terrell Suggs was a relentless pass rusher for 17 seasons, recording an impressive 139 sacks, eighth-best in NFL history. Over his career, he terrorized opposing offenses with his explosive bursts and precision tackling. Suggs was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2011 and contributed significantly to the Ravens' Super Bowl triumph in 2012.

Adam Vinatieri, a master of clutch kicks, holds the NFL record for both career points (2,673) and field goals made (599). His game-winning field goal in the snow against the Raiders in the 2001 divisional round became a defining moment in the Patriots' dynasty. Vinatieri also played a pivotal role in the Patriots' Super Bowl victories in 2001, 2003, and 2004, establishing himself as one of the greatest kickers in NFL history.

Joining these first-time nominees are seasoned veterans who missed induction last year, including Antonio Gates, Torry Holt, and Reggie Wayne. The screening committee will narrow down the list to 50 players next month, followed by a further reduction to 25 semifinalists and 15 finalists. The final class will be announced at the annual meeting before the Super Bowl.

To enter the Hall of Fame, players must receive 80% of votes, with a maximum of five modern era candidates being selected. The class may also include up to three senior candidates, one coach, and one contributor. Voting for the 2025 class will commence in January 2025.
