Over the past decade and a half, Kelly Stafford has embraced the demanding yet exhilarating lifestyle of an NFL wife. Married to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford for seven years, she has witnessed firsthand the challenges and triumphs that come with supporting a partner in the professional football arena.

"I think they have their things pretty settled and know where they are in life," Stafford told E! News. "But something that I wish someone would have told me coming into this is, 'Don't lose yourself.'"

Stafford emphasizes the importance of resisting external pressures to conform to expectations. "I would say, 'Don't try to become the person that everybody else wants you to become,'" she explains. "I lost who I was. And that goes with personality, looks, all of it."

Navigating the constant scrutiny and media attention is another aspect of NFL WAG life that Stafford addresses. "You're going to have everyone telling you what you should look like, what you should say and not say, all of these things," she says. "And if you start listening, you lose the values and everything you have that makes you who you are, and makes you the person your husband fell in love with."

Stafford advises her peers to prioritize their own inner voices over external noise. "You can't cancel out all the noise," she acknowledges, "but try to listen to yourself before you listen to anybody else."

As a mother of four daughters and co-host of her own podcast, "The Morning After," Stafford also stresses the importance of nurturing personal growth and passions outside of the NFL bubble. "I'm very vulnerable throughout this podcast," she says, "because I feel safe in this community, which is why I love it."

Stafford's words resonate with NFL WAGs who face the unique challenges of supporting their partners while navigating their own identities in the public eye. Her advice serves as a reminder to maintain authenticity, prioritize personal well-being, and embrace the complexities of life in the spotlight.
