The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) has condemned the lack of prompt medical attention provided to Baltimore Ravens' defensive lineman Kyle Van Noy during his Week 1 injury at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs' medical staff.
The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) has voiced its strong disapproval of the actions of the Kansas City Chiefs' medical staff following an incident involving Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Kyle Van Noy. Van Noy suffered a fractured orbital bone in Week 1 but alleges that the Chiefs' ophthalmologist took nearly an entire quarter to reach him after he left the game.
"I was disappointed in the way the training staff of the Chiefs handled the situation," Van Noy said on his podcast, "McCoy and Van Noy." "You get hurt, especially something that could be serious like mine was, you're supposed to rely on the team's training staff and their doctors."

The NFLPA's executive director, Lloyd Howell, visited the Ravens to meet with Van Noy and labeled the situation "unfortunate." He stated that the treatment speed fell short of the expected standard.
"We got many more games to play," Howell said. "We just can't have that."

Howell confirmed that the NFLPA has conducted an investigation and communicated their concerns to the relevant parties.
Under the collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and NFLPA, prompt treatment for injured away team players is a mandate. The Chiefs' training staff has previously faced criticism in the league's annual player surveys, receiving an "F" grade for their performance.

The incident has raised questions about the quality of the Chiefs' medical staff and their adherence to the required standards.
Van Noy, who is currently listed on the injury report with an eye injury, could potentially miss the Ravens' Week 2 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The NFLPA's swift response highlights their commitment to protecting players' well-being and ensuring that they receive timely and appropriate medical care.
