The video, which has since been re-shared on Instagram, shows Minaj being told by airport officials that she is under arrest and her personal baggage needs to be searched. A Royal Netherlands Marechaussee spokesperson confirmed to NBC News that a 41-year-old woman had been arrested at Schiphol Airport for "possession of soft drugs."

In the video, an official is heard saying that Minaj is being arrested for "carrying drugs" and that she should get into their vehicle to be transported to the police station. Minaj responds by saying, "I'm not going in there. I need a lawyer present."

Eventually, Minaj, whose legal name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, got into the official vehicle and expressed concern about making her upcoming show in Manchester, England. The official tells her that he will "try to get [her] there" as soon as possible.

Minaj is currently on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, and it is unclear if she was booked at an Amsterdam Police Station.

After her Instagram Live ended, Minaj shared a video to her Instagram of a conversation with a man who informed her that her bags needed to be searched. The police officer explained that they had done a "random, quick check" before her luggage boarded her private plane, but because she "filmed" the officer, they wanted to do a more in-depth search.

Minaj defended herself, saying that she had already told the officer that she did not have any more drugs in her possession. She also questioned why her bags had been taken onto the plane without her knowledge.

Minaj took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and shared with her fans that "now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls." She continued, "Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down."

Representatives for Minaj and the Amsterdam airport have not responded to requests for comment.

The incident has led to the delay of Minaj's show at Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England. The arena's official X account announced that doors would now open at 19:00, or 7 pm.

Minaj's arrest has sparked a discussion on social media about the treatment of celebrities by law enforcement. Some fans have expressed support for Minaj, while others have questioned her behavior. The incident is a reminder that even those in the public eye are not immune to the consequences of breaking the law.
