Obi Ndefo, known for his roles in 'Dawson's Creek' and 'Stargate SG-1,' has passed away at the age of 51. The Nigerian-American actor survived a hit-and-run accident in 2019 that resulted in the amputation of both his legs.

The actor had been living with severe disabilities since being struck by a car in 2019 while walking in Atlanta. The hit-and-run accident resulted in the amputation of both his legs above the knee.

Born in Enugu, Nigeria, Ndefo immigrated to the United States with his family at a young age. He studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City and began his professional career in the late 1990s.
Ndefo made his television debut in an episode of 'Law & Order' in 1998. He gained wider recognition for his recurring role as Bodie in 'Dawson's Creek' from 1999 to 2003.
In 2005, Ndefo joined the cast of 'Stargate SG-1' in the role of Teal'c's son, Rya'c. He appeared in several episodes of the popular science fiction series throughout its final seasons.
After 'Stargate SG-1' ended in 2007, Ndefo continued to act in film and television. He had roles in 'The Way of the Dragon' (2004), 'American Gangster' (2007), and 'The Walking Dead' (2010).
In addition to his acting work, Ndefo was also a vocal advocate for disability rights. He spoke out about his experiences and the challenges faced by people with disabilities.
