Gordon acknowledged that his behavior violated his personal values as well as those of the OSU football program. He emphasized his commitment to learning from this experience and working to earn back the trust of those he disappointed.

"Regardless of the outcome of this pending investigation, I did not uphold the values I have for myself and the values of the OSU football program," Gordon stated. "I am committed to learning and growing from this mistake and I will work to earn back the trust of those who I have disappointed. Thank you."

Gordon, the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2023 and a First-Team All-American, decided to return to the Cowboys for his junior season after initially declaring for the NFL Draft. He rushed for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns last season.

Oklahoma State announced that Gordon would attend Big 12 Media Days this week despite his legal situation. The university stated that the decision to allow Gordon's attendance was made after careful consideration.

"We have conducted a thorough internal review of the matter and believe that Ollie has taken responsibility for his actions and is remorseful for the decisions he made," Oklahoma State Athletic Director Chad Weiberg said. "We are confident that Ollie is committed to learning from this experience and growing as an individual."

However, Gordon's future with the team remains uncertain. Head Coach Mike Gundy declined to comment on whether Gordon would face any additional disciplinary action beyond his legal consequences.

"We're going to let the legal process play out," Gundy said. "We'll see what happens there and then we'll make some decisions."

Despite Gundy's reluctance to discuss Gordon's status, the running back's arrest has cast a shadow over the Cowboys' preparations for the upcoming season. Gordon was expected to be a key part of the offense, but his availability remains in question.

The Cowboys will open their season on September 2nd against Central Michigan. It remains to be seen whether Gordon will be on the field for that game.
