The Illinois State Police confirmed that the collision occurred shortly after 11 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the Tri-State Tollway in Elmhurst. The Wienermobile struck a Hyundai Sedan, causing the sedan's driver to lose control and overcorrect, resulting in a rollover.
The impact caused the Wienermobile to roll onto its side, temporarily blocking the northbound right lane during the traffic crash investigation. All lanes were reopened nearly an hour later.
