Charly Arnolt of OutKick criticized the backlash against Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker for his commencement speech at Benedictine College, where he spoke about family values and criticized IVF and "dangerous gender ideologies."
Charly Arnolt, host of OutKick, has come to the defense of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, who has faced criticism for his commencement speech at Benedictine College over the weekend.
In his speech, Butker spoke about the importance of family values and criticized IVF and "dangerous gender ideologies." His remarks have been met with backlash from some, including Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford's wife, Kelly Stafford.
But Arnolt believes that Butker is being treated unfairly.
"He's being treated like a criminal," Arnolt said on "FOX & Friends First." "He's not saying anything that's hate speech. He's not saying anything that's controversial. He's just saying what he believes."
Arnolt pointed out that Butker's speech was based on his own personal beliefs and experiences.
"He's entitled to his opinion," Arnolt said. "He's not trying to force his beliefs on anyone else."
Arnolt added that Butker's speech was not meant to be an attack on women.
"He's not saying that women shouldn't work," Arnolt said. "He's just saying that being a mother and a wife is a noble profession."
Arnolt believes that Butker's critics are "taking his words out of context."
"They're trying to make him out to be something that he's not," Arnolt said. "He's a good man who cares about his family."
Arnolt urged Butker's critics to give him a chance.
"I think they need to hear his whole speech," Arnolt said. "I think they need to understand where he's coming from."
Arnolt believes that Butker's speech is a reminder of the importance of family values.
"I think it's a great message," Arnolt said. "I think it's a message that we need to hear more of."
Arnolt's defense of Butker has been met with mixed reactions. Some people agree with her, while others believe that Butker's speech was offensive.
The controversy over Butker's speech is likely to continue for some time. However, Arnolt's defense of him is a reminder that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if it's not popular.
