Renowned rapper and music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs faces a staggering class action lawsuit involving more than 100 individuals alleging sexual assault. Over 100 individuals have come forward to accuse renowned rapper and music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs of sexual assault, sparking a class action lawsuit that has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. The allegations, which span a period of several years, have prompted multiple artists to distance themselves from Combs by altering lyrics that previously referenced him.

On September 16, 2023, Combs was arrested and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. Authorities allege that Combs orchestrated a criminal enterprise through his businesses, utilizing intimidation, threats of violence, and coercion to lure victims into his orbit and exploit them sexually.

In the wake of the allegations, singer and songwriter Joe Jonas became the latest artist to remove a reference to Combs from one of his tracks. During a performance at Paris' LDLC Arena on September 28, Jonas altered the lyrics to his hit song "Cake by the Ocean." Instead of the original line, "Walk for me, baby / I'll be Diddy, you'll be Naomi," Jonas sang, "Walk for me, baby / I'll be watching you be Naomi."

Jonas's lyric change seemingly references Combs' rumored relationship with supermodel Naomi Campbell in the early 2000s. Representatives for Jonas have not commented on the matter.

In April 2023, singer-songwriter Kesha performed her debut hit single "Tik Tok" without the infamous line "Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy." Kesha changed the lyric to "Wake up in the morning feeling like, f--- P. Diddy."

In August 2023, Kesha revealed that she had made the lyric change permanent. She wrote on Twitter that "TiK ToK was the first single that I put into this world that had my voice AND my name credited. I remember making it fun and happy because that's how I felt and wanted others to feel."

Kesha continued, "What I'm so proud of is that's how this song STILL makes me feel, through it all, and those are emotions I want all of us to connect to." She added, "I will re-record it when I have legal rights to! Now, my first baby stands for so much. It stands for fiercely protecting my fun and unadulterated joy, in myself and in others."

If convicted of the charges against him, Combs faces a minimum of 15 years in prison or a maximum sentence of life. The trial is scheduled to begin in April 2024.

Diddy's attorneys have denied the allegations, claiming that he is innocent and that he will be exonerated of all charges. They have also criticized the government for pursuing a case against Combs based on the testimony of alleged victims who they claim have a history of lying and extortion.

The allegations against Combs have sparked outrage and condemnation from various quarters. Women's rights advocates have denounced the alleged crimes as a violation of victims' basic human rights, while some celebrities have expressed their belief that Combs should be held accountable for his actions if found guilty.

The lawsuit against Combs is a stark reminder of the prevalence of sexual assault and abuse in the entertainment industry. It also highlights the importance of victims coming forward to report these crimes and seeking justice.
