The Green Bay Packers relied on a dominant running game and a strong defensive performance to secure a 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at Lambeau Field. Despite playing without starting quarterback Jordan Love, the Packers' offense controlled the tempo and kept the Colts' defense on the field for much of the game.
GREEN BAY, Wis. – In a game marked by a bruising ground attack and a stingy defense, the Green Bay Packers overcame the absence of starting quarterback Jordan Love to defeat the Indianapolis Colts 16-10 at Lambeau Field on Sunday.
With Love sidelined by a leg injury, backup Malik Willis took the reins of the Packers' offense and executed a game plan heavily reliant on the running game. Willis, who was making his first career start, completed just 12 of 25 passes for 134 yards, but he also rushed for 61 yards on 11 attempts.

The Packers' ground game was led by Aaron Jones, who carried the ball 21 times for 112 yards and a touchdown. AJ Dillon added 64 yards on 13 carries, while Willis's 61 rushing yards gave the Packers a trio of 60-yard rushers for the first time since 1961.
The Packers' defense was equally impressive, limiting the Colts to just 241 yards of offense and forcing two turnovers. Darius Slayton led the way with seven tackles and two interceptions, while Preston Smith and Rashan Gary each recorded a sack.
Despite the Colts' struggles on offense, they had a chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter. With just over two minutes remaining, quarterback Matt Ryan drove the Colts to the Packers' 23-yard line. However, on fourth down and goal from the 2-yard line, Ryan was sacked by Smith, ending the Colts' hopes of a comeback.
The victory improves the Packers' record to 3-3 on the season, while the Colts fall to 2-3-1. The Packers will return to action next Sunday when they host the Washington Commanders, while the Colts will travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars.
Here are some additional highlights from the game:
* The Packers' defense held the Colts to just 3.2 yards per carry on the ground.
* The Packers converted 10 of 19 third downs, compared to just 4 of 16 for the Colts.
* The Colts committed 10 penalties for 93 yards, while the Packers had just 4 penalties for 35 yards.
* The Packers won the time of possession battle by a margin of 38:14 to 21:46.
Overall, the Packers' victory was a testament to their ability to overcome adversity. Despite playing without their starting quarterback, the Packers were able to execute their game plan and grind out a tough win against a divisional rival. The Packers will look to build on this victory when they face the Commanders next Sunday.
