Josh Jacobs found his transition to the Green Bay Packers easy thanks to the team's stability, which he says was missing in Las Vegas, where he played his first five seasons.
Josh Jacobs' decision to leave the Las Vegas Raiders for the Green Bay Packers was driven by his desire for stability, which he believes is essential for success in the NFL.
After five years with the Raiders, Jacobs joined the Packers on a four-year, $48 million contract, with only the first year guaranteed. Reflecting on his time in Las Vegas, Jacobs noted the lack of stability due to frequent coaching changes.

"I never felt like there was any stability," Jacobs said. "There's already a lot of structure, there's already a lot of stuff in place. Having another new head coach over there [in Las Vegas], my fourth head coach while I was there, I never felt like there was any stability."
Jacobs praised the Packers' organization for its clarity and structure, which allowed him to focus on executing the game plan rather than rebuilding the team.

"Just to be able to come into a place where you're not trying to pick up the pieces, and you're not trying to build it out and see what works for us," Jacobs explained. "We know what works, we're basically just trying to execute the game plan."
The Raiders have had a tumultuous time since Jacobs left, with Jon Gruden's resignation in 2021 due to leaked emails, followed by the dismissal of Josh McDaniels and the appointment of interim coach Antonio Pierce.

In contrast, the Packers have enjoyed stability under head coach Matt LaFleur since 2019. The team reached the Divisional Round of the playoffs last season, losing narrowly to the eventual NFC champion San Francisco 49ers.
Jacobs believes the Packers' playoff experience will be invaluable in his quest to leave a legacy in the NFL.

"Playing in a playoff game, I feel like that's what you get judged off of, what you get based off of when you talk about legacy and talk about career," Jacobs said. "I haven't got the opportunity to be able to do that yet. So, that's definitely something that's big for me to do."
With training camp fast approaching, Jacobs is focused on adapting to the Packers' offense and making a strong start to his new chapter in the NFL. As he adjusts to his new surroundings, he will be eager to showcase his running abilities and contribute to the team's success.
