The Green Bay Packers could be in trouble if quarterback Jordan Love misses significant time after suffering a sprained MCL. Love was seen limping off the team plane after the Packers' Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur says that "the door is pretty open" for Love to miss Week 2.
The Green Bay Packers' quarterback situation is up in the air after Jordan Love suffered a sprained MCL in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Love was seen limping off the team plane after the game, and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur says that "the door is pretty open" for Love to miss Week 2.
If Love is unable to play, the Packers will be forced to turn to either Malik Willis or Danny Etling at quarterback. Willis started in place of Love in Week 1 and completed 12-of-14 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 41 yards on six carries. Etling has not attempted a pass in the NFL since 2021.

The Packers' offense struggled mightily in Week 1, scoring just three points against the Eagles. The Packers' offense is expected to improve with Love under center, but Willis showed some promise in his first NFL start. Willis is a mobile quarterback who can make plays with his legs, which could give the Packers' offense a different dimension.
However, Willis is still a rookie and he made some mistakes in Week 1. He threw an interception and he also had a fumble that was recovered by the Eagles. Willis will need to improve his decision-making and ball security if he is going to be a long-term answer at quarterback for the Packers.
