Over two decades after their iconic show "The Simple Life," Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are back together for a new reality television series. The former besties announced their comeback on Instagram, teasing a return to their playful and adventurous antics.
Prepare to witness the return of a legendary duo as Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie reunite for a new reality television series. Over 20 years after their breakout show "The Simple Life," the iconic besties are set to grace our screens once again.
The announcement came via a collaborative social media post on Instagram, where the it-girls teased the show with an old school TV set displaying static noise. Over the nostalgic backdrop, their playful voices could be heard singing their signature theme song, "Sanasa."
"New Era. Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock," the caption read, confirming the upcoming series' home.
The teaser was met with excitement and nostalgia from celebrities such as Juliana Hough, Morgan Stewart, and Nicole Polizzi (Snooki), who expressed their anticipation in the comments section. Even "The Parent Trap" star Lindsay Lohan showed her support by "liking" the post.
Richie's recent Instagram post, a collage of photographs chronicling their journey from childhood to adulthood, hinted at the upcoming reunion. With the caption "From Day 1: Sill and Bill," Richie seemed to be priming audiences for the women's television comeback.
"The Simple Life" premiered on Fox in 2003, running for three seasons before a falling out between Hilton and Richie. Despite speculation surrounding the reason for their rift, neither woman publicly addressed the issue. E! picked up the show for its fourth and fifth seasons before it concluded in 2007.
Today, Hilton and Richie maintain a close bond. Hilton is a successful DJ and entrepreneur, while Richie has founded her own lifestyle brand, House of Harlow 1960, and has collaborated on a clothing line with her sister Sofia Richie.
Hilton played a pivotal role in raising awareness for the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act, which received bipartisan support in Congress. She bravely shared her own experiences of abuse at a troubled teen facility, bringing attention to an ongoing issue affecting thousands of children every year.
The new reality series promises a return to the playful and adventurous spirit that made "The Simple Life" so popular. With Hilton and Richie at the helm, it's sure to be a nostalgic and entertaining ride for fans of the original show.
The exact premiere date for the new series is yet to be announced, but it is expected to launch on Peacock in the near future.
